  • AirFiber is a revolutionary new radio cage technology that uses high-frequency harmonics to create a total internal reflection in thin air, essentially making air into a fiber optic “cable”
AirFiber Alberta can transmit data synchronously without any wait time.
We feature traditional TDD and FDD modes of operation in addition to the proprietary Hybrid Division Duplexing (HDD) mode, which provides a breakthrough in range and spectral efficiency performance.
We take full advantage of all available spectrum resources to bring a network like no other.

Our proprietary algorithm built into the air protocol, allows our AirFiber Alberta radios to use patent-pending HDD technology to calculate the propagation delay and know when each radio can transmit and receive,  so they send packets in precise synchronization.
Packet transmission latency is virtually eliminated.

  • No. There are no satellites involved in the AirFiber Alberta Internet system. AirFiber Internet is what is called “terrestrial AirFiber” meaning that the radio signals are generated and transmitted within the earth’s atmosphere. As a result, AirFiber Internet does not suffer from the problems that satellite Internet access does, such as interference from snow on the antenna, or high latency due to the long distances that satellite radio signals have to travel between the earth and the orbiting satellite

  • AirFiber Internet is becoming available in Rural Alberta.
Starting with the DeWinton area located near Calgary.
There are a few locations where it will not be available due to the fact that AirFiber Internet service requires a direct line of sight between some point on or around your location to one of our repeater towers. We are striving to implement as many towers and repeaters so that every home regardless of location will be able to join our network.
If you’re wondering whether your location qualifies for AirFiber Internet service, give us a call, send us an email.
We’ll schedule a free site survey to test your location and make a determination on whether it is suited for AirFiber Internet service.
